Bright Blue Future: Connecticut coalition focused on developing strong maritime economy

ThayerMahan VP of Marketing Dr. Kevin Lopes Conveys the Importance of the Connecticut Blue Economy Coalition A coalition of nine Connecticut organizations aims to make a blue economy, otherwise known as a maritime economy, a strength of the state for years to come. Participating organizations include AdvanceCT, ClimateHaven, GreenWave, OceanX, Project Oceanology, seCTer, ThayerMahan Inc. and UConn Avery Point.
Representatives of all nine organizations came together with community members on Wednesday as the Connecticut Blue Economy Coalition formally launched its new initiative at Mystic Seaport. The organizations state that each shares a belief that the blue economy can be a powerful catalyst for economic development, coastal and community resilience and innovation.
