ThayerMahan Strengthens Leadership to Meet Market Demands

ThayerMahan, a leader in autonomous maritime systems, is positioning itself for significant growth with key leadership promotions and expansion plans. John Russ has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO), transitioning from his role as President of ThayerMahan Ocean Technologies. Mike Varney, a former submarine commander and technology executive, takes over as President of the division. These strategic moves aim to strengthen the leadership team in response to increasing demand for autonomous solutions in both defense and commercial markets.
The company plans to further its growth by increasing its workforce, with over 50 new hires expected in engineering and operations. Additionally, ThayerMahan is expanding its manufacturing capabilities to support production of its autonomous systems, including Outpost and SeaPicket. CEO Mike Connor emphasized the company's trajectory of success, particularly in its commercial sector, and its commitment to enhancing its technological capabilities to meet growing client needs.
