Wind advocates, Including ThayerMahan, tour England to see the future

The Connecticut group, led by English native Tony Appleton, also included Kristin Urbach, executive director of the Connecticut Wind Collaborative, and the collaborative’s board chairman Paul Lavoie, who is also the state’s chief manufacturing officer, plus ThayerMahan Inc.’s director of business development Alexandra Halvordson.

Mayor Michael Passero said offshore wind is also gearing up for a time when the ships that service the industry will be able to do maintenance remotely without a crew aboard, guided by sensors (perhaps provided by Groton's ThayerMahan, which specializes in sensors for the wind and defense industries).
