Andy leads ThayerMahan’s technology vision, advancing autonomous maritime systems and next-generation sensing solutions.

A renowned expert in the design and development of sonar and maritime domain awareness systems, Andy oversees the full technology stack—from low-power embedded systems at the edge to secure, cloud-based analytics that transform ocean data into actionable intelligence. His leadership ensures ThayerMahan delivers mission-critical capabilities for both commercial and defense customers, enabling smarter, safer operations in the world’s most challenging environments.

Andy has spent more than 25 years designing and developing sonar systems for mine-hunting, anti-submarine warfare, and underwater intruder detection, as well as architecting multi-sensor maritime domain awareness capabilities.

He started his career in the United Kingdom and moved to the USA in 2009, becoming a proud citizen in 2022.
